Detail
`The Army Nurse Corps was established on 26 August 1948 following the establishment of the Republic of Korea Government and the subsequent establishment of an army hospital in the Republic of Korea Army. The Nurse Corps is charged with heavy responsibility for nursing all military as well as civilian personnel serving in the army. During the past 15 years, the Army Nurse Corps has produced many nurse officers by training the candidates at the army medical school or, on the other hand, by means of entrusting students to various civilian nurse schools for necessary training. The nurse officer candidate completed necessary training course and acquired a qualification is commissioned as a second lieutenant.
The Army Nurse Corps has marked significant achievements in successful performance of their duties and for improvement and development of army nursing profession, by faithfully observing such principles of army nursing ethics as ``We believe in human dignity and treat all patients equally, regardless of rank or position`` or ``We will participate in the care of all patients by observing the shining tradition and spirit of brotherly love demonstrated by Florence Nightingale.``
The 4 Won stamp to be issued is to commemorate its remarkable contribution and development in their nursing duties since its establishment 15 years ago.`
