`Two kinds of special postage stamps on transportation and communication will be issued for the last year of the First Five-year Economic Plan. Having reconstructed greatly the Key industries such as electric power, refinery, artificial fertilizer and cement industry, the Government will put special emphasis upon further improvement and development of transportation and communication. For the transportation services, the Ministry of Transportation has a plan to import 65 diesel locomotives, to repair or to build 1,000 carrages including freight trains and to lay newly down a total of 400km of railroad in order to promote the benifit and convenience of the public. Korean Air Lines will extend its air route over South-East Asia by introducing a newest type of D.C. 9-32 zet air plane. For the communication services, the Ministry of Communications has achieved a great success during last 4 years, and now, assures the public of its continued efforts for further development of the postal system and for further improvement of the services. From 1962 to 1965, the Ministry has constructed 676 new post office buildings and it is planed to build more 236 during this year, in order to locate a post office in each myon throughout of this country. (Myon is a unit of Administrative district). Thus, we will come to have a total of 1,719 post offices. 15,807 posts and 12,330 stamp shop before the end of this year. From 1962 to 1965, a number of 124,193 telephone circuits and 38 wireless telegraphs and telephones communicating with islands were newly established. And it is schemed as this year`s enterprise to establish newly a number of 72,300 telephone circuits and 9 wireless telephones communicating with islands, and 1,368 microwaves communicating cities and 144 wireless telegraphs in order to supply sufficiently to ever increasing demandes. Postal saving services also contributed greatly to the development of national economic, that is, postal savings section invested a total amount of 4,460,000,000 Won of savings and life insurance deposit fund. On the occasion of the last year of the First Five-Year Economic Plan, the Ministry of Communications issues two kinds of special postage stamps wishing all the nation to contribute his best to prosperity of national economy by vivacious campaign for economic development of this country.`
