Detail
`The Junior Chamber International Conference for this year will be held in Seoul from April 13 to 16. Founded by an American, Henry Giessenbier, the JCI has been an organization of educated young men aged 20 to 40. Today, it has about 400,000 memberships in 80 nations over the world.
The purpose of the JCI is to cultivate the individual talents and leadership of the young men, without distinction of nationality, race and religion, in order to make them contribute in the construction of a welfare society with their courage and fervent vigor.
The Korea Junior Chamber was organized in 1952 by a number of young Koreans, who advocated the ideals of the international youth movement and believed that the movement would help rehabilitate our fatherland from catastrophical Korean Wardamages. The KJC was firstly affiliated with the international organization when it was admitted a membership in the JCI in March, 1954. Today, it has a 800 memberships in 17 major cities across the country.
The Seoul Conference will bring together approximately 1,000 delegates from 20odd countries, and they will discuss how to promote the world peace and prosperity, through better understanding among the peoples of the world, on the theme of ``Better World Through Young Men`s Action``.
The Ministry of Communications issues a stamp to celebrate the JCI Conference in Seoul and to propagate to the people the noble aims of the JCI toward world peace and prosperity.`
